I started drawing seriously in the summer after sophomore year. While most of my focus has been on portraits of live models, thanks to Mr. John Peck's Portrait drawing class, I extended my practice through a drawing and painting class in high school, as well as through drawing for children at the Palo Alto Children's Library.

My favorite inspirations are Rembrandt and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. I would love to try and draw Bernini's Apollo and Daphne -- the movement and pathos of the piece would be a huge challenge to create on a page.
